Pulse duration is much shorter than traditional lasers — typically 10–20 milliseconds, compared with conventional 100–200 ms. Delivery speed is high — for example, up to ~ 56 spots in ~ 0.6 seconds, enabling a fast pan-retinal photocoagulation (PRP) in a single session.
